The agreement between us

Last updated 4 October 2026

Short, in ordinary English, and without a clause designed to be skipped. If any of it reads as though it were written to trap you, tell us — that would be a mistake, not a strategy.

1. Who you're dealing with

The entity behind the ship

Argo is operated by CognitiveCore Technologies LLC, a Maryland limited liability company. In these terms, "we" and "Argo" mean that company, and "you" means the person using the service. By using Argo or creating an account, you agree to what's on this page and to our privacy policy.

2. What Argo is

Your chart, and the sky told against it

Argo computes your birth chart from the date, time and place you give us, using the Swiss Ephemeris — the same ephemeris professional astrologers work from. It then holds that chart against the actual positions of the sky and composes your reading from writing that already exists: what the day's configuration touches in your chart, in psychological and archetypal language. The Almanac does this in three lengths — today, the week, and the month's story. It arrives by email at the hour you choose, and it waits for you on your sky page whether or not you read the email.

Argo says what a day's configuration supports. It does not say what will happen.

3. Not advice

The clause that matters most

Argo is for reflection and self-understanding. It is not professional advice. Nothing in a reading is medical, psychological, legal, financial or career advice, and nothing in it is a diagnosis, a prognosis, a prediction, or a substitute for a qualified professional. Do not make a medical, legal or financial decision because a reading suggested it.

Argo does not predict the future, and does not claim any power to. What we compute is where the sun, moon and planets stand — that part is astronomy, and it is exact. What we then say about it is astrology: a symbolic language for thinking about your own life. A mirror, not a mechanism.

If you are in crisis, please contact a doctor or an emergency service in your country. A reading is not a place to go for help of that kind, and we will never pretend otherwise.

4. Your account

13 and over, one person, honest data
  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an Argo account. By creating one you confirm that you are. If you are under 18, use Argo with a parent or guardian's knowledge.
  • An account is for one person. The reading is computed for the person whose birth data is on the account, and it is only ever delivered to them.
  • Give us accurate birth data. Not a rule for our benefit — the computation is only as good as the minute you give it. You can ask us to correct it at any time.
  • Your email address is your key. Argo has no passwords; anyone with access to your inbox can sign in as you. Keep your inbox safe, and tell us if you lose control of it.
  • We may suspend or close an account that is being used to abuse the service or another person. We will tell you why.

5. What is free

Your chart, your account, and the Almanac

Your chart is free. Anyone can enter their birth details and get their computed chart at no cost, with no account and no card — where the sun, moon and planets stood at the minute and place you were born, and your sun, moon and rising read as one person, with a line about what today is touching. That is computation and writing we are glad to hand over, and you are not enrolled in anything by taking it.

A free account keeps it. An email address saves the chart, so you never type your birth details again. It opens your chart ruler — the one body your whole chart answers to. A free account stays free: it is not a trial, it does not begin charging later, and it never asks for a card.

The Almanac is free too. Your complete natal reading, chapter by chapter, and then the sky in three lengths — today, the week, and the month's story. It begins when you keep your chart with an email address, and it arrives as a short letter each morning until you stop it. One click at the foot of any letter stops it.

6. The app, and anything sold here

Coming soon, and sold separately

Argo for iPhone is coming soon. It is a separate product, sold through the App Store: its price is shown there before you buy, and Apple takes that payment under its own terms.

If this site ever sells something — a one-time reading made for your chart, for example — its price is shown before you pay, and Stripe takes the payment. Your card details go from your browser to Stripe and are never seen or stored by Argo.

7. Stopping the letters

One click, and that's all

Press Stop these letters at the foot of any letter, or turn the Almanac letters off on your sky page, or email hello@argoastro.com from the address on your account. Any one of them is enough, and nobody will ask why.

To leave entirely, delete your account from your sky page. That erases your data (see the privacy policy).

8. Refunds

Generous, by policy

A one-time reading, if this site sells one, is made for your chart when you order it. We usually have it ready within about ten minutes; in rare cases, when the systems we build on are slow or down, it can take up to two hours. If it is not ready within two hours of your order, we refund the payment in full, automatically. Once a reading has been made and placed in your account it is not refundable. This does not affect any statutory right you have where you live.

Refunds return to the card that paid, through Stripe, usually within five to ten business days depending on your bank. Nothing here affects any statutory refund or cancellation right you have where you live; where local law gives you more, local law wins.

9. How the readings are written

Computation, then language

The astronomy is computed — positions and aspects come from the Swiss Ephemeris, and nothing about the sky is approximated or invented.

The words are not generated at the moment you read them. Every sentence in the Almanac is written in advance. What happens on the day is arithmetic: your computed chart and the day's real positions are matched to writing that was already standing.

So the same sky gives the same words. Two people with your placements, reading on your date, receive what you receive, and the same chart on the same date always returns the same reading.

If we ever offer readings that are written for you at the moment you ask for them, they will be labelled as written, before you buy them.

10. Fair use

The short list of don'ts
  • Don't use Argo to break the law, or to harm or harass anyone.
  • Don't scrape the site, hammer the endpoints, or try to make the system compute at someone else's expense.
  • Don't resell your readings, republish them at scale, or use them to train another model or build a competing service.
  • Don't create an account with someone else's birth data in order to receive readings about them. The reading goes to the person it is about; that is a rule of the house, not a technicality.
  • Don't attempt to reach parts of the system that aren't yours. If you find a security flaw, email us — we will thank you properly and we will not come after you for telling us.

11. Who owns what

Yours, ours, and the sky's

Your birth data is yours. We hold it to do the job you asked for, and you can take it back or delete it whenever you like.

Your readings are yours to keep. Read them, save them, print them, screenshot one and send it to a friend. What §10 rules out is bulk republication and commercial reuse, not sharing something that landed.

The site, the name, the design, the system and the writing behind the readings are ours, and stay ours.

12. Availability

Best effort, honestly reported

Argo aims to deliver every reader's letter within fifteen minutes of the hour they chose. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service — no service of this size honestly can. What we do guarantee is that a missed morning will say so, in plain words, on your sky page. Nobody waiting on a morning letter will be met with silence and left to wonder.

If we ever discontinue Argo, we will give you notice and a way to take your archive with you before anything is switched off.

13. Liability

The necessary paragraph, kept short

Argo is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those stated here, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for any decision you make after reading a horoscope — see §3.

Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits; where that is so, they do not apply to you.

You agree to cover us against claims arising from your own breach of these terms or your misuse of the service.

14. Changes

Dated, and never retroactive

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. For anything material — what is free, how to stop the letters, your rights — we will email you before it takes effect, and continuing to use Argo after that date means you accept the new version. If you do not, stop the letters or delete your account; §7 is one click.

15. Governing law

Where a disagreement would be settled

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer, nothing here removes your right to bring a claim where you live, under the law that protects you there.

Before anything formal, email us. Almost everything is a misunderstanding that one reply fixes.

16. The Argo app for iPhone

If you use the Argo app for iPhone, these terms apply to it too, with three differences. The app needs no account, and nothing you enter in it reaches us. A subscription bought in the app is a purchase from Apple: it is governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, billed to your Apple Account, renewed and cancelled in your iPhone's Settings under Subscriptions, and refunded by Apple under Apple's rules rather than by us under section 8 — we cannot see or refund an App Store purchase. The app and this website are separate: nothing bought in one unlocks the other.
